John thought the world of himself, and why shouldn’t he? He was the cowboy who had it all. He had such an amazing life because he made it happen. Well, aside from the land his ranch was on. That he inherited from his dear mother, Lotti when she passed away when he was sixteen.
For John, it didn’t matter what bridge he had to burn to have it all because he could replace anyone, at any time.
John may have been young, but he learned quickly exactly what he needed to say and when he needed to say it. Even when he was wrong, he was right. With his silver tongue, he was able to get himself out of almost every situation. And when talking his way out didn’t work, he knew how to use his fists to make his point.
John’s first love was Juliette Donely. She was a true cowgirl. Beautiful, tough as nails, and such quick wit. But as much as he loved her, he never felt the ambition to marry her. The moment he met Mary he knew that she was the one, and if it wasn’t for his best friend Timothy Crandell he might have never met Mary.
He felt this incredible need to protect Mary and keep her safe from the hard world. No one would ever hurt his Mary. Well, John let her down one time, but she deserved it. She was coming at him with all these crazy accusations, John needed to put her in her place. But he promised he’d never do it again.
Luckily for John, Mary didn’t know about his indiscretions while he was alive. In Issue 14 we find out that John was still seeing Juliette while he was engaged to Mary –even worse, Juliette was pregnant with John’s baby! But was that all the fooling around John did when he was alive?
They were happily married for just over three years when John had met his grim fate.
During his time alive, he was either tending the ranch, drinking and playing poker, or training his racehorses. John loved competing in Clinstone’s annual Horse Race, he was training to win his fifth year in a row!
Yes, life for John was going very well. That was until his wife Mary found him dead on their ranch one early morning.
With John’s vibrant past, it’s going to be tough to figure out who killed him and why!
